(look at them! They're so cute!!)

Our garden this year has been a struggle. The suspected reasons why our garden didn't do well: we're new to gardening, our soil is terrible and we haven't seen many pollinators. We had a terrible germination rate. Of the ones that sprouted fewer survived. Out of 30 tomatoes we saved 4, now only 3 (one was a causality of hurricane Irma). A couple weeks ago I saw bees!!! Then a week ago a little tomato starting to grow! Now we have 3 all on the same plant. I have no idea if our growing season will allow them to reach maturity but here's to hoping.

(our one and only successful tomato plant)

The cucumbers are still producing. The pickle worms are still around but I have managed to keep up with them by checking a few leaves every day and killing the ones I see. We have still lost some cucumbers but I just chop those up and feed them to the ducks. They LOVE them!
