Hi everyone! So we finally got started! In my mind the beginning of a homestead is your first animals. At this point you have started the wonderful circle of beneficial entities working together to sustain you and your family. Animals=food and manure. The food to feed you and the manure to feed your garden. You can not have a productive garden without good organic matter. That manure ensures a productive garden and any extra produce can be used to feed your animals and reduce your feed bill! It is a wonderful, beautiful system. And so we got our first animals. We always intended to get chickens first but we had the opportunity to get Muscovy ducklings for free and we jumped on it! So here are our 2 week old ducklings getting a bath :)
