My three tunes for Tuesday are all about pain and hospitals. After half a century on this planet most people find themselves with a new follower called "Chronic illness". In my early forties I was determined to run and leave "Chronic illness" in the dust. This just left me with knee problems in addition to high cholesterol, reflux and near diabetes level blood sugar.
You can say a good diet can keep these away, but everyday our school serves a hot lunch and I have to eat it. I know it is full of fried fatty foods and cheese, but I love it. And after classes all morning I'm hungry. I know it is time to fast when I get home but my wife is a great cook and the kids need me to be with them and have a family dinner. That's important for health. I try to eat only salad, but I try this and that and soon I am having second helpings on everything. Good health is not easy to come by. There used to be a physical trainer on Hive who rewarded people who reached their fitness goals. Today we have actifit which is a cool app, but not exactly what I'm looking looking for. Bottom line is I need to challenge this body but within limits and do it every day.
Today was just one visit for a checkup but it's getting to the point that without relux medicine I can't sleep and without the cholesterol medication I will have high cholesterol. I could never imagined this thirty years ago when I was in school. As Mr. Koter would say, "I'm beginning to make the noises my father made."

Lizzy and the funk band here puts a smooth touch to an already smooth song. Somehow I forget about health problems and just want to dance and love.
Bad Case of Loving You - Robert Palmer Cover
This cover is by a Korean artist known as Kyung-Min Hong (홍경민)
It's a really fun song to get into and he gets the crowd all into it. He shares the stage and pumps up audience participation on this classic cover. Sometimes it is fun to watch Koreans perform western classic tunes. This time I am pretty surprised how well he sings in English.
He switches from Korean to English easily as he speaks to the audience in Korean but sings the song in English. I have always had a problem switching from one language to another easily, but he does it with skill and showmanship. It's much better than any Dr Pepper commercial.
Feelin' Alright - Dave Mason Cover
Okay, in this 1969 Joe Cocker version he wasn't felling so good himself. Yet he still managed to rock out his air guitar.
The original was written by Dave Mason of Traffic in 1968. They brought it back during quarantine two years ago and they still rock in 2021.
I know this is three tunes, but I really had to post the Dave Mason version along with Joe Cocker's cover. This song gives me hope that no matter how I feel or how old I get I am still young with the music.
