Group bodies into categories?
Someone once said equality is just an idea. It will never come into becoming.
I looked at them, and the voices of all the activists through history, who fought to be recognised as individuals, emerged.
Similarly, the struggles of all the women, who fought for recognition, who protested and marched for rights just to be standing on the same footing as a man, stormed out. The experiences of some women of colour in South Asian communities bellow out. The harassment, the groping, the verbal abuse, the undermining of a woman's role, the limitations, all shriek out.
When we start accepting things as they are, then we are giving up on the battle before it has even begun. Change starts with questioning, it starts with discussion, moves on when we challenge the status quo,and follow this up with actions and the decisions we make. Equality isn't an idea. You can't just ignore the difficulties just because you have your silver spoon.
