I do have a vintage car fetish, and seeing a classic car is an orgasmic delight, so I always try to take some photos.
If ever there was a need to purchase a car, I would go for a classic Mini. The Mini has been one of my all-time favourite cars, which I think would be the perfect car for a Minimalist. They are classy, elegant, smart, yet sporty; Practical and easy to manoeuvre, and I think this car would suit me well.
They don't make cars like they used to, and I would be disheartened if I ever had to drive a modern car, because I feel like they all look the same, and I like a certain kind of individuality.
I spotted this car in the town today, and the fire in my heart was as hot as this fiery red-orange.
One of my uncle's went through a phase of restoring Mini's and I wish I'd gone ahead with my wish and purchased one.
Well, I never say never.
I've only ever owned one car in my life, and it was a Silver/Grey 1995 Honda Prelude, which I loved. It was an old car in mint condition, that had just enough personality that appealed to me.
Before I purchased my old car, I swore that I would only drive convertibles. I remember there was a choice between the Prelude and a black convertible Honda. I sat in the black topless car, and I didn't even bother to test drive it. I realised then that convertibles were far too showy for me, unless it was a vintage one, then of course.
It's been years since I've sat behind the wheel, and honestly, I do not miss it. I enjoy my current lifestyle as a pedestrian because I enjoy being physical. Driving is something that I'd do only out of necessity, as I find driving mentally stressful, and traffic jams make me uncomfortable.
A Classic Mini would be ideal, for my minimalism lifestyle. For one, I do not need air conditioning or extras when driving, as I like natural air. I would only need a car for occasional short runs, and there would be no need to carry passengers, excess bags or personal belongings, and I think the Classic Mini suits my personality well.
A restored Classic Mini though, a car that my uncle would be keen to service and teach me everything about the engine, which would be nice because I do have a keen interest in learning mechanics:)
For now, I'll continue to walk well!
Till my next blog 😆
