Cats can be stubborn, and they don't necessarily make the best models because they only do what they feel like. I'm not sure if it's a spite or pride thing, but that's just how these majestic creatures operate. So when my mate alerted me to this Bengal cat recuperating on the neighbour's Porsche, I quickly grabbed my lens and did some quick snaps.

I was first shooting from my window a level above, and I took the risk of sneaking up as light toes as my cat Bob does, and I snapped him (I think it's a male cat) from behind.

I was pleased with this shot, which shows his whiskers and alert ears, eyes, and beautiful unique coat.
My cat Bob hates him, and whenever he comes into the yard she growls and snares at him, and this is the look he gives her as if to say...

"Hey mate, what's wrong with you? I'm out in the wild, you don't own this place."

Bengal cats are not common here, and I think he has an exotic look. It's lovely to watch his long legs, as he moves slick and elegant across the yard.

It was interesting watching the movement of his ears when I got close to him. They went from back, in fear, to a relaxed forward stance when he saw that I wasn't there to scare him away.

Still, as he crossed the street wandering into my yard, I could hear Bob growling at her, and Bob is vocal and dramatic and gets mad at me if she sees me affectionate with another cat.

Bob sure knows how to give me the cold shoulders and she desperately does everything to show that she's sulking and vexing.

The lighting was a bit harsh here, yet it adds dimensions, vitality, and fierceness to his like that of a big cat. Yet he seems to be mild and just needs time to get to know me.

I love his entire look, and it's fascinating to watch his ears. He's alert as all cats are, and once he was aware of my presence he made an escape under the car and over the fence, which my cat Bob was pleased about.

Cats love nice places and I guess he saw the Porsche and thought, "Hmm, that's good enough for me."

This impromptu cat photoshoot was the sunshine on my cloudy day. I'll keep an eye out for him, although he does not seem impressed with Bob's recipient whenever he comes around.

Territorial, jealous, and insecure cats, heh?
