Hello, good evening, Hive community. Today I had a very busy day at home, so much so that I got a little stressed. It turns out that we've gone a week without receiving a water supply, even though we have electricity at home. However, in other houses, just a few blocks away from mine, water is running down the street in large amounts. It's poor distribution on the part of the Water Company and waste from broken pipes that no one bothers to repair, which is why many of us citizens are affected. Because of this situation, I had been without doing laundry for a week, with lots of dirty clothes belonging to me and my husband.
Hola, buenas noches, comunidad Hive. Hoy tuve un día muy ajetreado en casa, tanto que me estresé un poquito. Resulta que llevamos una semana que no recibimos suministro de agua, a pesar de tener electricidad en casa. Sin embargo en otras casas, a unas cuadras de la mía, el agua corre por la calle en grandes cantidades. Es una mal distribución por parte de la Empresa de Acueducto y un despilfarro por tuberías rotas que nadie se digna a reparar, por lo que muchos ciudadanos estamos afectados. Por esta situación llevaba una semana con muchas ropas sucias mías y de mi esposo.
Thanks to a neighbor from the other block, I was able to get a few buckets of water and wash some clothes—not all of them, but at least the most essential ones. The bed linens, towels, and my husband's shirts and pants. I spend most of the day in dresses and I have many, compared to my husband, who works as a mechanic and whose clothes get very dirty. Besides, he's not one to buy many clothes; with the few he has, he's happy—many men are like that, but we women tend to buy clothes in abundance.
Gracias a un vecino de la otra cuadra pude acceder a unos cuantos cubos de agua y lavar un poco de ropas, no todas, pero sí las más fundamentales. Las ropas de camas, toallas y las camisas y pantalones de mi esposo. Yo me paso el mayor tiempo del día en vestidos y tengo muchos, en comparación a mí esposo que trabaja con ropas de mecánicos y éstas se ensucian mucho. Además él no es de comprar muchas ropas, con las pocas que tiene se siente felíz, muchos hombres son así, pero nosotras las mujeres somos más de comprar ropas en abundancias.
Anyway, today I had a day full of activity at home and ended up very exhausted because after the laundry came the cleaning. They didn't turn the water on all day, but I have hope that tomorrow they'll remember that water is vital for life and give us the corresponding supply. I wouldn't want to have to go all the way to the Water Company, which is very far from my house; although, thinking it over, maybe tomorrow I'll go, and that way I can de-stress a bit by admiring the landscape, and while I'm at it, I can also accumulate points in my morning walks.
En fín, hoy tuve un día de actividad en casa y terminé muy agotada porque después del lavado vino la limpieza. En todo el día no pusieron agua pero tengo la esperanza de que mañana se acuerden que el agua es vital para la vida y nos den el suministro correspondiente, no quisiera tener que ir hasta la Empresa de Acueductos, que queda muy lejos de mi casa; aunque, pensándolo bien, tal vez mañana vaya y así me desestreso un poco admirando el paisaje, y de paso aprovecho también para acumular puntos en mis caminatas mañaneras.
