I have been slowly climbing the ladder in Splinterlands in their new brackets system for modern ranked battles.
The gameplay is the same so no change their, but we now have to choose a bracket to play in at the start of the season and fight it out on our way to the top. I chose bracket 3 which is the Silver level bracket. most of my Archons were only level 2 so I bought some cheap gold foil summoners off the market place that were level 4.
I was just going to buy Regular foil Archons and combine them to level 4. But when I worked out the cost of both Gold Foil and Regular Foil, I discovered it was cheaper to buy them in Gold Foil. One Archon for example was $29 for a level 4 Regular Foil and the Gold Foil level 4 on the market was only $20. I saved almost $10 buying it in Gold Foil instead of Regular Foil. Bargain!
Not sure why but the life Archon is dearer then the rest at least in Gold Foil or it was last I checked. Or perhaps I just got some really good deals on the other ones.
Previously I was holding at around 50% win ratio. But as you can see above, I am almost at 70% win ratio for the season. I feel like my new Archons are offering a lot of support to my Dragon Lord Mancer and allowing to play more broadly with my cards. I previously relied heavily on my Magic with water and it limited my options massively.
I have played my first 100 battles and am now on the leaderboard. I am currently sitting in 205th position, I have a long climb if I want to make it into the top 50 for the season.
