This weeks challenge is for "a rainy day".
Rainy days for me are lazy days, or at least that's what I feel like they should be. If you have ever had an outside job then you would get what I mean. As when it rains it makes it hard to get out into the paddock and do your work. So sometimes this means doing work up at the shed or if you were casual like I was at the time it meant that you got the day off. Having a day off sounds great, but when you have bills to pay and you are casual it means no money, so too many rainy days can cause issues as fun as it is to have a day off.
Rain feels as though it refreshes everything, washing away the dust and even cleansing the air. Even just the smell of rain on the horizon, that first whiff of rain on the change of breeze as the clouds start to roll in. Is there another smell quite like it? I think not. That fresh earthen smell that you can only associate with rain, even the thought of it filling my lungs as I sit here writing this post does not compare to the feeling of renewal I get when I breathe it in.
Here in Australia a lot of houses have tin roves and the sound of rain on the roof almost has a calming effect. It is as though it gives you a sense of comfort. Do other rooves give the same effect I wonder?
Rainy days should be spent snuggled up in bed staying warm or sitting in front of a fire, staying warm and maybe watching your favourite show on TV. This sounds like a great way to spend a rainy day.
But how do you spend your rainy days ? Do you feel the same way or different about them?
We are all different and have different feelings about things, so let us hear your story.
