Hello Steemians,
There has been a lot of discussion around what steemit is or more precisely its goal. I feel that a lot of confusion is coming from what social media is, as some are asking are we a social media site or a quality content site?
So what is social media ? It is websites and apps that allow users to create and share content or participate in social networking.
With this in mind now I feel confident to say, and more importantly understand how, Steemit is a quality content social media site.
There is another question that is also being asked. Are we focusing on apps?
To understand my line of thinking here let’s think about Facebook and how it is a social media site but it also has games or apps build on it. With this in mind I am confident we can do the same.
Other dapps though are built on Steem though and not Steemit itself. Steemit has however launched the Steem proposal system (SPS) to support the building of projects including dapps.
I’m summary Steemit IS a social media site , FOCUSING on quality content, that SUPPORTS dapps. Therefore our goal as content creators should be on quality content as it is in line with Steemit’s goal.
I am not employed by Steemit and this is my only opinion, but I am confident I am on point with this.
I hope this helps you better understand what Steemit is.
Have an awesome day!
