A prayer in the form of a poem written today for my friends and loved ones across the Caribbean and the United States who have and will be impacted by the passage of hurricane Irma. My girlfriend and her family are locked down there in Florida. I feel so helpless being here while she is there but I have faith she will pull through okay. Thank you for reading and I'm praying for your friends and family as well, peace...

We still play games with mother earth,
No matter how she screams she's hurt.
From Gilbert back in '88,
And now we stand at Irma's gate.
The atmosphere is heating up.
And this chaos must erupt.
To show us we have lost or way.
With all these greasy games we play.

There's no longer any value in human life.
And the poor will feel the knife.
When the elites cut their cakes.
We end up with some large earthquakes.
But of these principalities have no fear,
Monster storms still don't scare.
Mother earth will shake them off.
As more of us begin to talk.

Mexico shakes while I prayed for the states.
And my own island nation on the neighboring plate.
For all my friends who now face the storm,
Panic not, just try keep calm.
I pray that God will give thee strength,
And endurance to bear the length.
Of Irma's wind and pelting rain.
That you all stand firm in this hurricane.
