Hi there all,
The last We-Write partner contest had the topic of Art House that we wrote with @Phil-glas.
We were kind of disoriented with this topic. For one thing, we didn't know what to write about it. Not only that. The way it turned out what we have written was apparently not what was expected from this topic.
Particularly, he remembered how he was taken to the art class when he was a little boy. The building of the "community house of art" where the club was held, was built in an unusual to Russia "German" style. When he turned it over to me, I recalled that these types of buildings were built by German prisoners of war, who were captured during different campaigns of WWII. Then I remembered about their tough life in GULAG where they were treated not any better than Russian political prisoners and how many of them died and were allowed back to Germany only in 1953 after the death of Stalin. I also remembered that Nuremberg, where Nazi bosses were tried, was the hometown of Albrecht Durer and so on you can read this post here.
However, considering that we had very few clicks, this story was written in an unusual style - half fictional, half memorial and didn't suit the expectations of the reading public at Steemit. Well, what can I say... it takes the time to orient yourself in the correct way, I guess. )))
