As someone who has never had or wanted a pet, it is with some amount of hesitation that I found myself today looking at a litter of kittens, with the intent of picking one out to be our family cat. It does seem like a good way to introduce some level of responsibility to my kids, and they have been patiently asking for one for a long time now, so I don't think this is just a passing fancy.
This is the one we decided on. White with some light grey streaks, and blue eyes. Name is as yet undecided, but two front runners are Slush and Purrston Meowell III (my kids just found out about Gilligan's Island).
We don't have any supplies, so we'll need to pick up the basics before we bring the little guy home. There's a lot I don't know about taking care of a kitten, but it seems it's time to learn. Anyone with cats have advice? What am I getting into here?
