Poland’s mountains are now dotted with crocuses (proper name: Spisz Safran). They pop up on open, sunny meadows and delight the wanderers.
I am doing a 80km trail over the Easter long weekend. Divided into 3 stages, it’s not too hard. We enjoyed quite good weather - temperatures in high teens, no precipitation. We however witnessed a rare phenomenon here - the warmth is caused by southern winds, which have brought… sand all the way from Sahara. It creates a haziness in the air, blurring the views.
