I am in training to be Beskidy Mts Guide. Its a long - 500km mountain range spanning Western Carpathians. Lots of information to absorb. Some areas come easy - topography, history, trivia. But my Achilles’ heel is nature. I do recognize popular trees but most plants are just “grass” or “white flower” to me.
Knowing my weakness, I take every opportunity to learn. Like a stroll in a park. My city has installed boards that explain ex. kinds of trees, good and bad plants, the life cycle of a forest etc. It’s meant for school kids so the level of information is popular rather than scientific. But it fits me perfectly. I’ll be a frequent visitor in that park. Good excuse to have good ice cream there ;-)
