Lily, the Chihuahua Princess
Lily had been the chihuahua princess of mom in-law. When she had to move to a special clinic for Alzheimer patients, Lily stayed with us in 2015. Her sleeping habit had been quite peculiar because she always slept on her back. Wherever we went she was with us, we travelled to Spain and vice versa... we brought her on board the plane in her travel bag.
I am not sure whether some dogs are sleeping the way she did. But I think dogs who sleep like this position feel good. I think they feel comfortable because they knew they have nothing to worry about and that they are safe. Even if we were watching movies, Lily always insisted to sleep on her back on the lap of my husband even if she laid in an awkward position ( see Nr. 2 Image).
So whether we were in Vienna or in Spain and in different parts of the house, she had a bed to slumber into and a sofa of her own. We miss her so dearly ´coz for us, she was a family member that gave us love, joy and fun.
While on her way for a walk with my husband, she collapsed along the path and never woke-up, it was so sudden, she had a heart attack and was 9 years old and that happened the day after my birthday in 2020. We had her cremated and small parts of her ashes and the ashes of our Rottweiller named Ako were put in a small box which we carried along in our travels especially to places where they´ve been to like Tenerife, Cyprus, Malta, Hungary, Czech Rep, Italy, France.
All that is left are the fond memories of our lovelies! I hope you take good care of your pets. Please do not buy puppies in pet shops because there are so many overfilled and jampacked animal shelters in every country and I wish you would adopt one or two and give them a beautiful forever home for the rest of their lives.
