I love exams, I really do but there's an exception which is any examination with maths or calculations as the subject. Aside that, exams gives me that alert of visiting home soon or going on a study break, it's not easy to keep studying until you finally get to write the exams... The freedom that comes after is priceless.
Well, I'm not one of those students who have the habit of studying everyday and I'm one of those students who study really hard two weeks to exams. I won't advice anyone to do same for their exams but it is definitely what works for me, my results says so (I wish I could show you lol).

There are a few things I do that have been working for me even when I feel lazy to study and I have so much to cover, there are hacks I apply to achieve my desired result and I'll share them but make sure to pick the sense out of the nonsense lol. One thing I've come to realize about my study habit is that, I'm almost not normal during those times 😂 I go crazy to achieve my desired grades and it works so why won't I go crazy again?
See why I say you should pick the sense out of it? I'm not asking you to go crazy for your desired grade but the point is... Be focus on getting a really good grade on the course you're studying.
A positive affirmation at heart while studying is a safe haven
You don't want to keep repeating the words "This exam go bloody o" or "If na even C, make I get for this course at least" while you're studying for the course 😂 I bet that you'll get way below what you are supposed to get. Saying those words to yourself only means you don't trust your brains and of course, God who has gone before you in the exam hall.
I tell myself right from when I start going classes for a course that I'll get a good grade on it, while I study, I also make sure to picture myself getting all my answers correct... It's an hack for me and it works to a great extent.
Listening to music while taking coffee as I study is an hack
Well, I don't do this when it's my first time studying a course because it will only serve as a distraction. So I make sure to only take coffee to drive sleep away then study for a few hours before I go over it again with music in my ears and a hot coffee to follow. My favourite reading time is by 4am till 7am, sometimes I wake up much earlier or don't stop studying at 7am.
The point here is that, my brain assimilate more from my studies in the early hours of the day and that only happens when I sleep well the day before it or slept early to wake up at that time. Listening to music while I study helps me create good pictures of what I have study in my head. I tend to remember the book and me turning pages inside the exam hall when I do that... Yeah, it's safe haven for success.
Having a relaxed mind hours to the examination start time is a finishing hack
With this added to my exam preparations, I have nothing else to fear no matter the negative affirmations I've heard my course mates give about a particular course. I get easily scared of exams especially when I feel like I didn't prepare enough for it but then I remind myself that it is all fear and I got it. I make sure to sleep early the night before my exam, eat well (if possible, I eat my favourite meal), drink enough water and avoid any form of stress until I get to the exam hall.
When I do this, my mind always feel calm while I see others panicking about an exam that must be written and gotten over with. I won't say I haven't gotten a low grade in an exam before I rarely fail exams especially after I found out these hacks that works for me.
There are other little hacks I do even unconsciously when I prepare for exams but I'd like to stop here... What are your exam preparation hacks?
