El arroz con leche es un dulce tradicional en nuestro país Venezuela, cada quien tiene su propio estilo de como prepararlo. Existe innumerables de recetas con sus toques individuales de acuerdo quien lo publique.

Rice pudding is a traditional sweet in our country Venezuela, everyone has their own style of how to prepare it. There are countless recipes with their individual touches according to who publishes it.

Esta vez traigo el arroz con leche y papelón al estilo de mi madre, ella giró instrucciones de como ir realizándolo. Le dije ese no es mi estilo igual voy a seguir sus instrucciones para probar otro método.

This time I bring the rice pudding and papelón in my mother's style, she gave instructions on how to make it. I told her that this is not my style but I will follow her instructions to try another method.

Así fue como surgió esta deliciosa preparación con un final feliz. Quedé bien satisfecha por el resultado; el arroz no quedó duro como le decía de acuerdo a sus instrucciones. De que sabe sabe.

That's how this delicious preparation with a happy ending came about. I was very satisfied with the result, the rice was not hard as I told her according to her instructions. It tastes like it tastes.

Ingredientes utilizados
1 taza de arroz
2 tazas de agua
1 taza de leche
1/4 de cucharadita de sal
1/4 de papelón (de la panela de 1/2 kilo)
Canela en rama al gusto

Ingredients used
1 cup of rice
2 cups of wate
1 cup milk
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon of paprika (from the 1/2 kilo panela)
Cinnamon stick to taste

Organizados los ingredientes se coloca en la olla a utilizar el agua, la sal, el arroz, la leche, la canela y el papelón. Todos los ingredientes de una sola vez ( aquí es donde yo tengo mi estilo).

Once the ingredients are organized, put the water, salt, rice, milk, cinnamon, and the papelón in the pot to be used.
All the ingredients at once (this is where I have my style).

Pues, a fuego un poco alto se cocinó la mezcla hasta que hirvió un poco, luego se dejó cocinar a fuego lento revolviendo de vez en cuando.

Well, over a slightly high heat the mixture was cooked until it boiled a little, then it was left to cook over low heat stirring from time to time.

El líquido fue tomando color por el papelón, se siguió revolviendo, atenta a que se secara y el arroz quedara duro (no fue necesario colocar más líquido). El arroz se cocinó muy bien, ablandó, tomó el sabor de la canela y su dulce fue el papelón que también lo tomó muy bien. No quedó pasado de dulce. Quedó en su punto.

The liquid was taking color because of the papelón, and it continued stirring, making sure that it dried and the rice was hard (it was not necessary to add more liquid).
The rice cooked very well, softened, took the flavor of the cinnamon and its sweetness was the papelón, which also took it very well. It was not too sweet. It was just right.
