This is both great news and terrible news. On the one hand these recent events make a very strong case for the need of an uncensorable medium, and of course we know that blockchain is just the right answer, but at the same time, it really does shed a light into what's truly going on in the public discourse. True power can only be kept if you control the information, and that is precisely where the battle is being fought.
It may sometimes seem futile to have conversations with others on the very idea of free speech, because there are plenty of people who simply don't understand its value. But the truth is that it's not futile, and it's certainly the only way we can truly keep any sort of grip of our democratic systems. If all information is controlled and filtered, then the whole notion that we are making choices is just comical.
Should you be doing something right now? Well, yes you should. As a matter of fact @oracle-d is running a bounty at this very moment to motivate people to go spread the good news. Hey
@contentcreator, do not worry, there's yet hope... Have you heard of STEEM? - Use your favorite pitch, use the medium you prefer, but take today's events as a bullish sign, because it is.
As a matter of fact @theycallmedan is also sponsoring a similar bounty. So there is more than enough incentives for you to do your part.
Just imagine, ten years from now we will be laughing a bit, remembering when a few Silicon Valley Corporations had everyone by the throat, and wonder how we ever put up with their antics.
