You know, when they were hot, when people thought it was they were the best thing to ever happen to crypto I posted a couple of "questions" about their actual value. To me, it made not too much sense, unless there was a way to claim royalties, or something to ground them a least a little bit.
As you might expect, I got a lot of crap. Those who disagreed with me, did do respectfully, but without a doubt thought of me as someone who is too set in the old ways and thus cannot understand the future.
This is precisely the reason why I ask. What happened to NFTS? After thousands of scams, even from celebrities it seems, they seemed to have died off. The once thriving platforms, the monkeys, the dolphins, all of them seem to have moved into oblivion.
I will confess this much. I was tempted to get "into the game" so to speak. To trade them, to see if I can catch some rockets, but It always kind of felt icky. It always felt like I was feeding a scam and that I was just as bad as those who came up with the "business models".
Are they really gone?
I guess not, the tech is still there, but they've officially landed back to earth, right? Nobody, that I know at least, is paying for a bored ape more than my house is worth and that return to thinking gives me a little hope.
Where will they be in years to come, I ask myself, and land exactly where I was those years ago. Until we come up with a way to make royalties on them, not much more that "items" inside games and such.
Hope none of you got burnt too bad.
