We've probably heard the phrase "too big to fail" in a bitter context before. Which is to say, that how we got sold the idea of bailing out the Banks in 2008 was pretty much pounding that memetic quote into our heads. That being said, within the context crypto and today's financial landscape, this phrase is more than applicable.
We cant uninvent cryptocurrencies, the cat is out of the bag as they say. And, let's not kid ourselves all if not most of the critiques about cryptos are not only silly, but flawed.
Trump may have brought BTC front an center in the past few days, but do not think for a second that governments all around the world are not trying to figure out how to divert the river's waters.
I've seen some comments online of people who want to see cryptos banned, who believe that government should step in and kill them. How myopic one must be to work against their own freedom? I seriously facepalm every single time I see someone fighting to give up their rights.
There's a dire need for sound money, for a real store of value, and even though a lot of the price action today is driven by greed, the philosophy behind cryptocurrencies in general is stronger than the USD valuations.
Will cryptos taking over kill some businesses? Destroy swift? MoneyGram? Western Union? - sure it will, but imagine if we still held on to our carriages and horses, arguing that cars are going to make bank heists easier (which they did). How ridiculous would we be?
Governments may be trying to figure out how they are going to keep their power as we speak, but the truth is that the only way they can remain relevant is to participate of the trend. Anything else is suicide...
