Hello Hive friends, a big greeting to everyone, thank you for supporting my post. If you liked it, comment and let me know what you think 🤗🙌🏻
The power of imagination, my friends, is very strong—both for good and for bad. Sometimes I wonder what would become of us without the ability to imagine. What would happen to art in all its expressions, literature, music, Ecency, and all of us who are part of it?
Great is the power of the mind that allows us to imagine, dream, and idealize. It’s incredible how, thanks to our imagination, we are able to create, to dream—so much so that we even do it while asleep.
I couldn’t live if my imagination were taken away from me. Thanks to it, I write, read almost all kinds of books, and it allows me to fantasize, escaping the reality of everyday life.
It is thanks to imagination that we devise a plan to achieve our goals, that we are able to see beyond what is within our reach. It makes us believe in and adore things we cannot see—things like the divine, the spiritual, and even the soul.
Human beings are always in constant growth and development of their minds. Dreaming is fun and even pushes us to be better every day. But we must be very careful with what we dream and imagine; we must know how to keep our feet on the ground.
The power of imagination and the mind is so great that the law of attraction exists—the one that allows us to attract everything we desire and dream of. That’s why we must be careful, on many occasions, with what we dream of and come to desire. Its power is so strong that it can also bring misfortune and suffering.
Once, a few years ago, while reading, I discovered that scientific studies show that human beings spend their lives suffering more from what they imagine than from actual events.
And I kept thinking about that, exploring how true it is. How many times have we had an argument with someone, and when it’s over, we keep replaying the conversation in our minds, even imagining more hurtful things we should have said in that moment?
Likewise, we have the ability to create a conversation even with a nonexistent being—one that never existed and never will. Or when we’re in a relationship and that person doesn’t answer our call, the first thing we usually think is something bad, imagining millions of possible scenarios that only serve to torture us, when we don’t even know the real reason.
I’ve seen my friends torment themselves and make a mountain out of a molehill, thinking about what their partner is doing—that they must be with someone else, that something bad must have happened to them, and so on. Their imagination runs wild.
So I usually tell them, "What the eye doesn’t see, the heart doesn’t grieve over," to which many have replied that the mind imagines it and confirms that the pain comes more from imagination than from reality.
When I was studying medicine and reviewing the nervous system, a professor told us that the mind doesn’t distinguish between what is real and what we imagine—that just by thinking about something, the mind and body react to it, regardless of whether it’s real or not.
Fortunately, I’ve learned to control my imagination and use it mostly for writing. I don’t waste my ability on pointless things, on torturing myself or suffering. I do believe in "What the eye doesn’t see, the heart doesn’t grieve over."
So, if something hasn’t happened and I don’t know the details, I don’t waste my energy being sad over the imaginary.
I prefer to use it to create, to move forward, to achieve my goals, and to be better every day.
As Albert Einstein said, "Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited, while imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress and giving birth to evolution."
