I had some potatoes that had begun sprouting in the pantry, snd since they were putting in so much effort trying to grow, I cut them up and stuck them in a big old pot filled with dirt out on my deck. They are growing nicely, and I'll let you know in the fall if I have anything to harvest! I feel like quite the farmer!
