For @nat-expressions weekly challenge called #fridaysrock! The challenge is to share your favorite rocks and minerals.
I have had this piece of quartz for years. I bought it in Arkansas from an old man with a table set up along the country highway and I think I gave him $1 for it. He had several with big clear crystal points, but I was fascinated with this one.
Quartz is one of the most abundant minerals found on Earth and has deposits on all continents.
I'm only guessing that is pyrite (fools gold) among the crystals. And I am hoping someone that knows more than I do can tell me more! And if it is, is it called an inclusion, or is it only an inclusion when it is encased within the crystal?
