And everyone contributed a few cookies to the cookie platter. They were a hit with the kids!
Our Christmas meal was served as a buffet. I forget how much food teenage boys can eat! We had ham and baked beans and my daughter-in-law made my favorite Russian salad called 'Herring Under Fur Coat' which is diced Pickled Herring that is covered with layers of grated vegetables (potatoes, carrots, beetroots), onions, eggs and mayonnaise. It is a favorite of most of the adults... not so much with the kids, although the boys are usually polite enough to eat a few bites.
Herring Under Fur Coat is a tradition in Russia.
One of the funny parts of Christmas was that both grandsons showed up wearing the same shirt!
And then my oldest grandson opened this snuggly warm gift!
Everyone has gone home, they all helped to put away the Christmas decorations before they left, and I am settling back into my eSteem routine!
