Good evening or day depending on the country you're in I hope you're all having a wonderful time. It's been a little while since I've been out and about mainly due to COVID but we've finally headed out for a corporate event.
Tonight I attended the Melton Tabcorp Harness Racing Club for an awesome meal and a punt on the races.
It was a beautiful late summer sunset with a cool breeze but still a little bit of warmth around making it a wonderful night for all.
The first meal presented was calamari with tartar sauce and a Greek salad, the calamari was served fresh cooked and cooled and presented as a cold salad. It was the first time I had eaten it this way and was beautiful with a squirt of lemon.
There was a brief pause for dignitary speeches and introductions of the race day as well as a live band which played beautiful music and set a wonderful scene.
The main meal came and I ordered the barramundi, I'm not sure what sauce it was served with but it came on a bed of mash with panko bread crumbs. The panko bread crumbs added a wonderful crisp and I'm not a big fish eater but this meal was absolutely marvellous.
There was a break for the main race which saw everyone scuttle to the balcony to watch the main event. I'm not really a gambler as I believe in spending on money on the community. But I put $2 on a random horse. I have to admit I have no idea who won but I know I didn't win. 馃し this is why I don't gamble.
It was then onto desert with a wonderful lemon cheese cake which went well with the previous dishes. I lovely smooth layered cheese cake with a subtle hint of lemon. A slight tang but not over powering.
I had a really good night amongst friends and got to meet some new networks amongst the community and look forward to discussing important future projects that enhance the quality of life for people.
The investment opportunities available for the area are really good and such a wonderful asset in the community with a magnificent restaurant and hotel. The hotel is operated by the global chain, Mantra. I often stay at Mantra hotels as I do find they are good quality.
I'd rate tonight's meal 10/10 I'm not sure if it's because I haven't been out in a while but it was well planned, well cooked and tasted magnificent. It was great having the night off cooking and I would recommend this venue to anyone in the local area looking for something to do and a great place to eat.
As for the horse racing, I have a lot to learn as I have no idea about it 馃ぃ I also heard they have a wonderful breakfast with a wide variety of options available so I'll need to be back to taste test the food.
