How medium writing does not compare with contributing to Hive
A couple of months ago I've started writing on medium.com in so that I get educated on the blogging matters and be able to do a objective comparison to what we have here on Hive.
I have used the same username, so if you want to see a few (maybe boring) mostly technical posts you may be able to find them easily. The point is that I have written a few articles on which I have invested quite some effort. I was surprised to see that the most viewed article of mine from there was one about Postman (a very technical, niched one). It has these stats:
Basically, without any promotion, just a well written article and I'm saying well because that's what I was able to produce after putting my efforts in it, generated from August till November, after 200 views, 11 cents.
11 cents is exactly the same amount a user with 2200 HP is able to generate in a single vote.
As a personal takeaway it was the fact that Hive can outpace medium.com easily, just by getting some more promotion, but with time it will do it naturally anyway.
Thanks for reading and I hope you appreciate this place!
