Lets make a frapp
being in the coffee industry
To days coffee i am having is a coconut mocha.. yes coconut , chocolate and coffee all in one , the coffee taste is not so strong but it compliments the chocolate , which compliments the coconut taste. I can drink this all day . As it is really good, I never thought I would be drinking a hot coconut coffee drink .. but I guess I had to give it a try . During the winter time instead of customers which are not so much coffee drinkers ordering hot chocolate , they end up falling in love with the coconut mocha.
Lets make a frapp!!
So I guess you want to make a Frapp, simple and easy one for your hott days at home , all you’ll need is a flavored syrup, ice blocks , milk , cream/ice cream and xanthan gum.
First step
I am making a 500 ml size Frapp... so I added in 300 mil of ice blocks in to my blender.
Second step
Pour a shot of espresso coffee or if you using instant ass the amount you desire.. but espresso coffee is what I’m using so I’ll pour a shot and add it to my cup, the amount of espresso shot I’m going to pour is 50 ml. The coffee i am using though is an arabica medium roast, Central Africa.
Third step
Add 100ml of milk to you coffee, then add 50 mls of syrup or what ever flavor you going to use , I’m using “Walnut Brownie”.
Forth step
Add your xanthan gum , you don’t need to much just a little bit like a gram of it ..normally Starbucks has it in a syrup form which you can make buy just blending it with water and sugar if you want it sweet and adding it in to a spray bottle ..if you wonder what the xanthan gum is for is so that when you blend everything the liquids do not separate and your ice doesn’t float to the top. It helps everything stays combined and give it a nice smooth texture .
Fifth step
Blend everything together, try use a powerful blender so that all the ice can be crushed up and mixed , I would say you blender would need to be close to 1000watts or more to get a good Frapp going
Sixth step
Pour it in to your cup and ready to drink !!! Do add ice cream or cream for added fillet flavors .. I used ice cream as it’s just like have a dessert on the top of your nice icy coffee drink .. the ice cream as well gives it that extra creamy taste to it and taste really good.
I hope you try it out when you look for something new to create at home !!!
being in the coffee industry
before I start this was a little sketch i did in the afternoon when i had some time. i wanted to capture a coffee shop atmosphere from what i had in my head and its environment.
I’ve been in the coffee industry for 2 and a half years now, I can remember when I first started I never thought of coffee beans , grinders and industrial equipment.. it took me sometime to get in to and to learn . Unfortunately I didn’t have much people I could have a social form of where I could discuss a good direction for what good coffee is and how it’s suppose to taste. A lot of the times it was trail and era. I have created horrible coffee in the begging and when I started thinking I was doing good and it was the best , it was not , I had a Russel Hobbs coffee maker and no grinder .. so I was getting already grounded coffee beans and if your a barista you know that’s a red flag as the coffee does not keep fresh for long when grounded . So it took me about a year selling foods and pushing coffees until I was able to get a rental coffee machine . That is when my eyes lit up and felt like it was the best thing that could ever happen .. I clean the coffee machine more then I clean my shoes ... even though it’s a rental it’s a start .. the next goal of mine was a coffee grind .. not just any coffee grinder but one where I could get the best espresso ground coffee , they are a bit price but thanks to a close friend of mine he was able to find me a Mazzar .. a golden boy of the coffee grinders. It has its flaws but it does its job. Then there was me learning about the coffee machine and then parts i need to replace and where i can find casket replacements for my machine, as well ass the burrs for the coffee grinder and opening it up to clean it out, making sure it put back together perfectly. Owning a coffee shop can get really technical if you have a high level standards of what coffee you want to serve, for example even the water you use for your coffee machine and a filtration motor , which all can add factors to the out put of your coffee. You cant learn about everything in the coffee industry in one day and I think I’m great full where I started cause it showed me so many ways on how not to make coffee ... with over 4000 cups of coffee that I’ve made I still have more to make and more new things to learn ... I hardly search for coffee connoisseur to taste my coffee, I actually look for the ordinary person that walks about and ask them what they think , at the end of the day I’m not going to get only connoisseur to drink or buy my coffee , but I’m going to get your average person that probably only drinks home coffee or no coffee to try my coffee and tell me what they think of it ...
Thanks for stopping by and reading everyone!!
