Happy New Years , the coffee shop was closed for the New Years .. but now I’m back in business . So to start the first day of the year I decided to have a latte made with African Arabic Beans , medium to dark roast . Now I have been working on my Latte arts trying to get some really nice presentations of art on the coffee to serve. Until I saw that it was my milk pitcher that was holding me back , my pitcher was to rounded by the stout and I needed a pointer stout milk shake pitcher. That is something I have to looking in to . One of the patterns I have been working on is my swan 🦢 pattern . Due to my milk pitcher being a bit to rounded I had some good and some pour attempts but I just wanted to get the feel of doing the pattern .

Can cappuccino have latte art ?

Can cappuccino have latte art on them ? Everyone loves latte art when being served their coffee.. For latte it is very easy to do latte art as the milk is not so frothy and you are able to control the froth for the patterns. Where as a cappuccino has more froth so it tends to be very thick and hard to control the froth when pouring it in to the cup. I do put latte art on my cappuccino, well I feel some barista do as well as we do not want to deliver a boring cup of coffee . We want to show of our skills and have the customers feel pleased and happy with what they bought . The way I make my cappuccino has the right amount of froth to be called a cappuccino. But I do put a tiny bit lesss froth. It still dose have its thick creamy froth which you can taste when you sip it , smoother than the first kiss you have ever had .

New year new release!

I have been looking for a new Milkshake to put on my menu .. a new idea that would be really good, something that people will enjoy and find unique. I have as well been thinking of adding a new flavored frapp, to give more of a variety as I only have caramel , mocha , vanilla and walnut brownie. The frapp I was think was a butterscotch. With the ice coffees I will as well add the butter scotch to it ... but for the Menu not to look so big and confusing I will be removing a few of the items that do not do so well.. a Rooibos frapp Will be added to my menu as a new item for people to try out because they are unbelievable really good ... and nice for the warm weather.. That is something that will be new to the area as well .. cause not many people have heard of it before and I have been hyping it up to customers . So non coffee drinkers can aswell enjoy tea frapps.

My goals this year

This year I will have to go harder and I want to work harder then the last year.. I do want to have time to blog as it helps me think and vent and get some new ideas . Though in terms of my coffee shop. I want to buy a machine a 2 group machine , and I want to get a commercial blenders , which will me make frapps and smoothies so much easier . I as well want to open up a new store , Yes a second store, I feel I am ready to work on that and push for the goal of a new store. I have learnt so much about the foods and coffee industry in South Africa , and I feel I will learn even more if I am able to open up another store .... That is one of my biggest goals for this year ..

Christmas event Donations

On Christmas we collected dry goods and toiletries to give to the pensioners and old age home .We where able to collect a number of parcels from the community and aswell cash for huge containers of goods from Pick N Pay shopping center that they started doing this year . We where able to give out parcel on the 27th of December. We do this every year December with help from Mulit-Charity’s. How we give them out is that we ask people around for names of people that need a parcel for Christmas, we do not take photos of them due to the fact that a lot of people feel uncomfortable about that. We keep everything private but if people want to know where their parcels have gone we have a list of names and we work with the community to help give out the parcels. I believe everyone should enjoy gifts during Christmas and covid has not been kind to many people and families who have lost their jobs or had to close their business down .

All photos are take from my IPhone 6 and edited on Lightroom
