Love, an everyday word I come across but still don't understand.
Is it a figment of our imagination? Or an expression of our emotions?
When we showcase it, we are welcomed as an inlaw
If we repress it, we are tagged an outlaw
Its complexity can be so difficult to decipher while its beauty can be so enchanting not to be a believer
From the warmest of hugs to the deepest of kisses are these emotions made public to the human eye.
I have always lived my life with the hope of one day, to share such moments of bliss with someone I feel such emotions for.
But as the days roll by
My window of hope keeps shutting
The seeds of doubt keeps growing
The drums of defeat becomes deafening
My optimistic self goes drowning
Am I gonna experience this?
Am I gonna die alone?
Do I really understand the word "love"?
All these questions keep bugging my mind, but I can't provide the answers.
From one sour experience to another, I keep moving but never loosing sight of that beam of light at the end of the tunnel.
I keep pushing myself to be better, in other to be more appealing to the next person that comes around.
But I guess, I hit an iceberg on that part,
hoping I don't sink like the titanic
I guess, it's lack of understanding of the word
Or the thoughts that am not prepared for it. These views keep flashing through my mind like an erratic current.
I just don't reflect emotions as others do,
I don't cry
I don't smile that much
and I can't maintain small talk
The only thing am left with is sadness which makes it difficult for me to bred love.
The comprehension of that word will go a long way in erasing the pain I harbour so much in my heart.
Finally, I pray, I break free. for they say love is all!
