Anytime i sleep i pray to wake up safely but i couldn't be more happier than to wake up on Sunday's when things happen, when i got to see some of my friends in our usual spot, we don't go to shop on that day... It is has been instituted by us as a football day.
Woken up early Sunday morning i said my prayers and prepared for mass with hope to be back after the mass, i will go and enjoy myself in our usual play ground... " if you are a guy and you don't like football you are missing something".
Though it didn't work out as planned at the ab initio...I woke up around 6:25 and prepared for 7:30 mass the sermon and heavenly session was awesome that i forgot about the plans for football, though i came to cognizant again when they reverend said " ite, missa est." in latin meaning go forth, the Mass is ended.
I rushed home so that i will be able to do my sunday chores with hope to finish it or abandon it when it is time for football, I was resting and waiting for my food immediately i heard the echoes of my football friends heading for the miniature pitch i rushed out and joined them.
When we reached to our Old Trafford we chose team mates and started the ball... Football is one aspect of sports, that when am engaged in it, i terms to forget my worries at the interval of it, lovers football can testify.
There's something that happens inside the pitch, that even you can't control which is the ecstasy of scoring goals and excruciating part of losing to opponent. Any time am in the pitch i do feel like i must perform and give my best, that very day was something else even though that my team mates and i have already known each others way of displaying but the whole thing wasn't going as planned.
We were been knocked out and suddenly i break loose to avenge the shame been poured on us, suddenly the defender thought it was a champions league final and decided to swipe me down to the ground and i was substituted because i was unable to continue at that moment, i was in pain but still have the urge to continue... The heart was willing but the leg seems unable to carry me again.
When i reached home i pretended not to have gotten any injury because i know what will follow it. So, I was walking one kind funny way, just to take the pain and avert the warning of not going out to play football.
The pain was much that i couldn't hold it anymore, they started asking what was wrong i told them as usual what will be said was said. I told a friend of mine what happened and he laughed at me and said "this is why i hate football " and he asked me if am going to play again and i smiled and reply that, if i don't recuperate before next week Sunday i will still play.
In life injury is inevitable because it can happen unaware even when you ain't playing football but what matter is how you handle it. In anything that makes you happy it will have a little or more effect of pain.
But be optimistic and never yield to any situation. Remember injury can come in any form, anything that makes you unable to do what you have passion for can be an injury to you.
Your destiny lies in your hands and expect criticism and warnings because it will surely come, but what matters is your ability to scare through in that adversity and proof them wrong.
