Well, after my Ethiopian coffee came to an end, it’s time to enjoy the other V60 pick from the last month’s delivery. This is the Honduras Caballero single origin coffee.
Label is red, again, which means that the primary tastes of this coffee is more towards the fruitiness, rather than chocolate and toffee. I. This Honduras coffee we have melon, orange and ice cream, and even if the ice cream may sound a bit too crazy, it’s really there, in the cup. That’s why I love these Arabica special coffees. In every other variety, there are different aromas and tastes, which makes your experience unique.
The grind level of this is coarse - fine which is the level desired for a V60 brewing method. You do not want to go too fine, because you’ll get a bit bitter taste in your coffee, going coarser will make your brewing too fast and the extraction - less than desired. Under extraction means sour coffee. Brewing time of about 2,5 - 3 minutes means that you will get a proper extraction for the most of the coffees. This times may vary in very light roasts, or too dark. Anyway, with the special coffees there’s no reason to go very dark with the roasting. That’s the way to kill the nice aromas for sure.
The Honduras Caballero is a coffee, that I pick almost with all my purchases, but it’s really excellent choice for its price. Costing about, or even less than 10$ per 200g, it’s among the cheapest picks from the Dabov specialty coffee shop. And this makes it an easy choice for my deliveries. The only issue is, that it’s not favorite to my wife. She drinks it, she likes it, but it’s not her favorite pick.
Well, after 3 minutes have passed, it’s time for the coffee to come into my cup.
That’s the way I start every single morning. With a cup of nice coffee. Either espresso or V60, it’s well enjoyed. While V60 is a slower brewing method (compared to a quick espresso shot), it’s usually my preferred one. And as my coffees are getting to their end, I’m already looking forward to the next delivery, which may be a week away from now.
See you soon. Enjoy your coffee, enjoy your day.
