Hey, Cinnamon Coffee community, good Saturday morning! I hope you all are doing great today. My Saturday morning is quite usual. The little guy waits for his breakfast. Luckily we have these baby songs with animation on YouTube, otherwise he would be very nervous and impatient.

His brother is still sleeping and he can peacefully enjoy what he likes. Guess he is happy, at least he looks so!
Actually his brother is quite a late sleeper these days. Yesterday he woke up after 9:30, although he usually sleeps to about 8:00.

Well, I guess I can enjoy a coffee while preparing the breakfast for the little guy. Today’s coffee is a brown labeled one. Brazil Aliança is here and I will enjoy some toffee, biscuit and multi chocolate flavor. Such a classical taste!

Do you see something unusual? Like the name of the farmer? Of course, this coffee’s origin is Brazil and Renato Ishikawa doesn’t seem so Brazilian. I remember telling you in one previous post of mine about this farm. This was quite a while ago, to be honest, and I won’t be surprised if you don’t remember the story.

This Japanese man have bought this farm a long time ago and with his love for coffee, produces one of the finest beans in the country. With his Japanese perfection and attention to detail, I’m not that surprised, that his farm is among the most famous in Brazil. But today’s topic is not the farm. It’s actually, as you noticed from the topic, related to preparing coffee! The summer heat gets close to its peak and I will definitely need some kind of cooling! So I tried putting a new ingredient in coffee.

Yup, this is ice! I cannot actually say that it is a new ingredient. After all the ice is just water in another phase. Yesterday I started to wonder what will be the result if I brew coffee right over some ice cubes. So I gave it a try!

I actually have seen here and there some brewing equipment that is designed for brewing over ice cubes, but I’m not sure this was an espresso brewed coffee. After all what could be the problem in doing so? Actually the long coffee is made by pouring some hot water in the coffee. This seems the same, and the difference would be that I will end up with a cold drink.

There is something very satisfying in looking the ice cubes being poured over with espresso coffee. The hot liquid really makes them melt quite fast.

And here we are, ready with this “new” coffee drink, with just adding a different ingredient, or not so different, as we made it clear just some lines above. 😁

I must admit that I was a bit shocked after the first sip. The coffee had a bit of harshness, that otherwise would not be in the cup. I thought that maybe this was the first and the last time I try this, but after I waited a bit, the ice melt a bit more, releasing the water free (this was a strange expression, like the water is a captivity of the ice… 😁) and the coffee became very balanced after giving it a minute or two. And yes, it’s very enjoyable start of your hot day.

I guess I’ll give this drink some more fine tunings with the quantity of the ice, and who knows what, but I really was happy with the results.

This will end my post, because I have to wake up the big brother. We have some tasks to do today and it’s time for him to wake up. Otherwise, we can end up late for some appointments, which would not be good at all.

Have a nice weekend and see you soon again!
