Hola friends, lovers of tacos and food in general. During our stay in Madrid we discovered by chance a restaurant of tacos al pastor.
We were passing by the place and what caught our attention was the big Mexican flag hanging in the window, then we saw the Takos sign, it was then that we realized it was a taqueria.
We already know from experience that tacos outside of Mexico are a gross imitation, unless they are really made by real Mexicans, don't be fooled by Taco Bell, those are nothing like real Mexican tacos.
Hola amigos amantes de los tacos y de la comida en general. Durante nuestra estad铆a en Madrid descubrimos por casualidad un restaurante de tacos al pastor.
Pas谩bamos por el lugar y lo que nos llam贸 la atenci贸n fue la gran bandera de Mexico que tienen colgando en la ventana, luego vimos el letrero Takos, fue entonces que nos dimos cuenta que era una taquer铆a.
Ya sabemos por experiencia que los tacos fuera de Mexico son una burda imitaci贸n, a menos que realmente sean hechos por verdaderos mexicanos, no se dejen enga帽ar por Taco Bell, esos no son nada parecidos a los verdaderos tacos mexicanos.
When we saw that there was a line to get in, we said to ourselves, hey, they must be really good. If there was one thing we learned over the years living in Mexico, it was to tell the difference between a good original taco and a bad imitation.
Before waiting in line, we went inside to take a look at the menu and see out of the corner of our eyes the tacos of those who already had their order on the table. We saw that they didn't look bad so we queued up to go in.
Friends, I must confess that it was worth waiting in line, the place surprised us, although everyone who served us did not have a Mexican accent, the tacos did have the Mexican flavor that we have already tasted, of course without the chili, I do not think the Spanish and the tourists that passed by the place would tolerate the spicy way they eat in Mexico, although they had a spicy sauce it did not feel spicy to us at all.
We ordered tacos al pastor and arrachera, also some quesadillas with cheese, meat and mushrooms that were really good, they can be accompanied with beer or with the original Mexican drinks such as Horchata and Agua de Jamaica.
The prices also seemed to me not bad, each taco cost between 1.5 and 2 euros, if we take that to Mexican pesos would be between 30 and 40 pesos, a little more expensive than in Mexico but given that it is Madrid and that it is a tourist place I think they were reasonable prices.
Cuando vimos que hab铆a una cola para entrar, nos dijimos oye deben estar muy buenos. Si algo aprendimos con los a帽os que vivimos en Mexico fue diferenciar un original y buen taco de una mala imitaci贸n.
Antes de hacer la fila entramos para echar un ojo al men煤 y ver de reojo los tacos de los que ya ten铆an su pedido en mesa. Vimos que no luc铆an mal as铆 que hicimos nuestra cola para entrar.
Amigos, debo confesar que vali贸 la pena hacer la cola, el sitio nos sorprendi贸, aunque todos los que nos atendieron no ten铆an acento mexicano, los tacos s铆 que ten铆an el sabor mexicano que ya hemos probado, por supuesto que sin el chile, no creo que los espa帽oles y los turistas que pasaban por el lugar toleren la forma tan picante como se come en Mexico, aunque ten铆an una salsa picante no se sent铆a nada picante para nosotros.
Pedimos tacos al pastor y de arrachera, tambi茅n unas quesadillas con queso, carne y champi帽ones que la verdad estaban muy buenas, pueden acompa帽ar con cerveza o con las bebidas originarias de Mexico como son la Horchata y el Agua de Jamaica.
Los precios tambi茅n me parecieron que no estaban mal, cada taco costaba entre 1,5 y 2 euros, si eso lo llevamos a pesos mexicanos ser铆an entre 30 y 40 pesos, un poco m谩s caro que en Mexico pero dado que es Madrid y que es un lugar tur铆stico creo que eran precios razonables.
