My friend will be married this coming February 18. And so the bridal shower happened.
It's a little bit early on the date before the wedding. Almost 2 months before the marriage. But this is the only time we have for her. All are busy with their work, family, and time. So why not celebrate it early?
We've been friends for 11 years and counting. Our circle of friends formed in high school. We're in the same class. Classmates in other words. We are called SARMEL. That name got established because of our surnames. Every first letter of our surnames forms that word. And I think, that is also the forming line indicating who needs to get married first. And so it starts at S, so I did. I am the first one who got married and experience their surprise bridal shower.
This is Michelle. She also has a surname that started with the letter S. Actually, it's 3 of us who got the S surname. But the other one is busy teaching, so having a boyfriend is not her priority at the moment. But then the pressure is on. 😂
December 29 when we held this surprise bridal shower. This nearly gets canceled because of some misunderstandings between the couple. They want to cancel the wedding because of some arguments. Michelle wants to have a prenup, but her fiance doesn't want to. Maybe for some financial problem. But the good thing is they solved it before the date we organize arrives.
The event occurred at their house. So maybe you think, how did we surprise her? It's kinda difficult to surprise her if she was home. And that happens. She works online that day, and staying at home is her choice. And so we need to think of a way just to make her go out, or else the surprise won't happen.
We already plan what to wear, what food to bring, and the design. Everything was settled. Then it's time to think about how to remove her from that house. 🙈 Joyce decided to invite her to go out and buy some food. She just mention to her that they will have a get-together at her house, and just a few friends will come. So buying food is needed.
It's already 8 pm when they get back. We turn off the light, hide, and play music when she comes in. SURPRIIISSSEEE!!!
She doesn't have any idea that we're all there.
She appreciates the effort and our presence. And so picture taking happened.
We also light some sparklers... Just to have an amazing effect on the pictures and video.
After that, picture-taking comes to an end. We decided to eat our dinner... And share stories, advice, and opinions regarding marriage.
Some don't want to settle through marriage even having a long time relationship. Some want to, but still waiting for their boyfriend to propose. Some manage to stay single and focus on their career.
Everyone has different wants and preferences. And we respected that. As long as they're happy with what they achieve.
We ended the party by drinking wine. And say goodbye to each other as we all have different homes. Lol.
