There are so many reasons out there to do whatever pleases one to do. It doesn't matter whether it's a good reason or not. There is just always a reason to act even if you do not know sometimes. These things at times is a result of the internal force that drives us to act - passion, love, hate, greed, remorse etc. Some external factors could also be - peer pressure, family, partner, etc. These factors influence the actions we execute which may in turn lead to some certain outcome. Achieving this outcome is considered success due to what you want. And to be successful in life, it is important to have a driving force that's pushing you.

While these force could be any of the factors listed above, the motivational fuel for achieving success is passion. Passion gets you out of the garage onto the road. If you have a passion for a specific goal, you'll do anything for it. Remember when you were so passionate to get married to that your spouse? You were willing to do anything humanly possible to please your partner in order not to lose him/her. Its just as simple.

While this may not fully align with you because you're not married. Here is another instance. Years ago, my passion towards education is to study in the university but I gained admission into a polytechnic. I didn't make it end just like that. During my days in the institution, I was saving every single penny from my little allowance of N1,500 every week. That is around $12 a month allowance. There are days I go to school on empty belly and stayed without food for two days. I was saving my money to buy the next jamb form so that I can enroll into a university. Let's me not even go into a full gist about that. All I know is, it was a tough thing for anyone to do back then and even now.

But it wasn't my fault. I was just passionate to go to university and I was willing to do anything to make it happen. So my actions were deliberate and intentional. In my case, that was the sacrifice it took me to get my preferred admission with a course of choice. And did I get that admission? YES. Because my passion was never to go to uni. not polytechnic. So it motivated my movement to the vision of future.

Same way your vehicle needs an ignition, a starter, something that compels you to jump out of bed in the morning challenged to tackle the day.

IGNITION PRECEDES FLOW

The gurus will tell you to do what you love. Why do they say this? The reason is simple; because that's the easiest thing for you to do. Besides, it is what you know very well and nobody forces you to it. In most situation, that thing you love doing is a sure way of getting broke.

Personally, I love arts, but I suck at it. I love the piano as well and I love playing it like a world best. But I am the most unfortunate player you will ever listen to. There's no way on earth I'm gonna take that (what I love) up as my next line of action because nobody will listen to my nonsense tune on piano and nobody will pay me for producing bad arts.

You've just got to find that ignition that drives you to flow regularly. That ignition is none else but PASSION. You need a passion for something greater. It could be different for everybody (and it should), but when you find yours, you will do anything for it. When you reposition your goals and visions at the end of a road that works, that end transforms your daily life into passionate action toward your specified destination. If you can't get paid doing some activity and others are, identify a specific reason why it is so or an end goal that ignites your passion to act.

What is your reason WHY? Why are you doing this? Why go southwards and not west? Whom do you want to prove wrong about your life? It could be things like this:

“I want to pay off my mortgage.”

“I want to quit my 9-5 job.”

“I want to go to school because my family never did.”

The list is endless. Its all a function of your reason why.

Passion beats do what you love, because passion fuels motivation for
something greater than yourself. Why are you starting this business? Is it because you love it? Or because there is a real market need?

Again, Passion for an end goal drives successful action. A formidable why is all you need to turn your daily activities into passionate motivation. What are your WHYs, and are they strong enough to motivate you into process?
