I am here to make some money. That's my major motivator. And I think that pretty much everyone is here for that reason. It's how Steemit markets itself, and I have a friend here making a good living, and that's what I want to do.
I think it's okay to admit that.
The thing is though, unless an individual is prodigiously talented, or staggeringly lucky, this is not something that is going to happen overnight. If you want Steemit to work - it seems to this newbie - then you are going to have to put some work in.
And you don't do it like this (all taken from comments on the same blog) :
"If you'd like to vote4vote we have similar SP and could help each other out. Check out my blog, have some music stuff and funny videos. If you like let me know in the comments."
"I upvote u , u should upvote my comment."
" i noticed some similarities in how we think. check out my first post. maybe you'll find it interesting. its very different from your post"
"https://steemit.com/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" (this one didn't even try to engage)
I am led to believe that these kind of tactics just piss people off.
I get it. I have written a few blogs myself, and I have put a lot of thought into them, only to post them, and seem them all but disappear. And why is that happening? It is because I am a newbie. A minnow. No-one knows who I am, and literally ten seconds after I have posted, I am fifth on the new posts page. A minute later I am 30th.
And that's the way it is. I am not special, and, sorry to break it to you, neither are you.
There is an etiquette guide here. Read it! There is plenty of advice, written by people who know from whence they speak! Read it!(reprise)
Read other blogs. Comment on them. And don't ask for support, because you aren't going to get it, and what you will do is piss people off.
I have been here a few days, and I have already had some really decent interactions. People are kind, and will encourage you and will help you out, but they aren't going to make it easy for you. And why should they? They got to where they are with effort (and often genuine talent).
Sorry for the lecture, but, Jeez, everyone wants something for nothing these days...
If you liked my post, don't forget to upvote it, friend!
(SEE HOW ANNOYING THAT IS?)
