Corruption has become the order of the day and even some policemen that are supposed to be faithful to their work are not doing the right, they take bribes from others, and they gave justice to the culprit while they punish the just because they have been bribed, black men working in the black street. The country is bad but they are making it hard for people, but out of the rotten eggs, John decide to become a good egg, and this can give anyone the notion that one can still standout to be faithful even they are surrounded With corruption. John has been working as a police officer for over 9 years, he dedicated his time To making sure that everything is working out fine in his office.
Most times, when the less privileged come to their custody, he makes sure that justice is given to them, without collecting any bribe from them, unlike the other Police officers, they'll make the less privileged suffer for the offense they don't commit, but whenever John noticed any injustice, he makes sure he fights against it and people have been praising him for his faithful, I mean the citizens around him, especially those people he has helped, but with all dedication to his work, he has not been promoted.
He kept on doing his best, with the hope of helping the citizens even though he will not be rewarded, but one thing is certain in life, there's always a reward for honesty. That's what his father always tells him, and he has been following his father's words since then. A lot of people have bribed him with a huge amount of money but he always refuses it. Any time he's tempted to receive a bribe, his father's words, always rang a bell in his mind, So he decided to be different hoping that his reward will come as time goes on.
The commissioner has warned them not to extort money from people anytime they are on duty, especially when they are at the checking point, but they'll never listen, they have made it a habit to extort money from car riders, even when they don't find any fault with them, they'll look for one way or the other in making sure they take away from citizens, but since when John joined them in their office, he makes sure he stops them from extorting money unnecessarily from people, because he threatened to report them, and this made his colleagues hate him
Some people will always hate you when one is trying to be different, that's what his father always says, but he doesn't care about what people might feel about him, as far as he's doing the right thing. The commissioner heard a lot about him, and he was surprised about his level of honesty. One morning, as John was setting out for duty, he received a letter, at first, he thought it was a transfer letter, but when he opened it, he was shocked by what he saw, he received a double promotion, he was my are the general superintendent of police of their state, he was surprised because he did not see it coming, he was glad his honesty led him to a great destination and he hopes to achieve more good things.
