Well, some nations have already celebrated the new year by now, and here we are again. Not much has changed for me, except reuniting with old friends, but the differences in careers and life aspirations are glaring, with most probably focusing on their families and trying to harvest the prospects of business connections than rekindling friendships with no strings attached.

Hive ecosystem:
I have been posting less, probably due to disillusionment about the disparities in voter rewards, or lack of which, towards my account, in comparison to others I've interacted with on this platform. Also, why would it matter? Why do I post? To share my talents or for pure gain? Do I have to put a face to my account to get better reception or can I still do it "incognito"? (Anyone who is very determined can know who I am without much struggle).

The point is, I am trying to push my work out there without the battle against bias. I have experienced discrimination based on my looks. Some think my life was placed for me on a silver platter, so I get fewer opportunities as a result. Sometimes I'm favored unfairly over others. Besides, I need a platform where I can express and experiment on my "hidden" abilities without scrutiny from familiar faces, who tend to be the harshest deconstructive critics.

Gaming:
I waded into the RisingStar game. it's proving to be an interesting platform to interact with for passive rewards, but I feel like the game has so much more potential. I can't put a finger on what could be working against the game in terms of user uptake. Is it the user interface? Is it the lack of challenge in gameplay? Why did I take so long to try out the game? I think the devs are working hard behind the scenes to improve the overall game experience and add some attractive challenges for the players of the game.

I do play Splinterlands on a different account, though. It has its own positives and question marks, which I may talk about in that account, once I put my finger on all of them if it is possible in the first place. It is proving to be a bit more complex than it should be, in my opinion, with regards to tokenization.

I hear there is a game called Ragnarock coming soon, will I be one of the early adopters? I hope I catch it in good time.

Hive token:
Glad it increased in value. I'm also kinda happy I did not power down. I have been intending to power down and leave because I did not see what value this account has in my life. I also regret not being able to power up, now that I see the staked Hive power increasing as a result of automated voting rewards.

The future:
I think I have to make a commitment to keep posting, however stupid the idea is, so long as I don't leave this account idle whenever I'm available. Thanks to the fact that I am somehow anonymous, I have so far posted some cringeworthy stuff without regrets. Maybe I should carry on and see where it goes.

Ciao, Happy New Year!
