I can very well remember my teenage years very well; back then, I always felt the urge to become an adult ASAP. Because back then, I feel as an adult you're free and can do anything. But in all honesty, I just can't help but smile at myself now, because it does come with freedom, but with a mix of responsibility.
Now talking of the best transition, for me it is that life will not always follow my script. I've not been here for long, but I've been here for a while, and in that short while that I've been on earth, life has shown me a lot. I've watched my dreams slow down due to unexpected circumstances; I've had to put my education on hold and a lot more. But then, those times really taught me things; they taught me resilience, patience, kindness, and other things.
I also learned from my experiences that there's more to failure, meaning it is never the end. While some doors closed, others opened; while some plans failed, I had to pick myself up, restrategize, and start all over again. And honestly, it was frustrating; there are times I question life itself and why I have to be the one going through all of these.
Now, as an adult, I've learned to take responsibility for my actions and own up to it. Nobody owes me anything; I've got to pick myself up, motivate myself, and work towards the life I really want for myself, my family, and my future family.
I won't even say I've achieved anything; I haven't achieved anything yet. I still have lots of goals ahead of me and dreams I'm working towards bringing into reality. Growth to me is not about perfection; it is about becoming stronger, being kinder, and refusing to give up.
