Greetings everyone, I welcome you all to my blog.
It's another great day to listen to the word of God by his servant Bro Eli Soriano.
The impact of movies on society has grown significantly, and this growing influence is not always beneficial especially for Christians. Many believers become overly attached to movies, and this addiction often stems from the negative effects films can have on the mind and behavior.
A number of the harmful behaviors we see around us today are influenced by what people watch. Movies often portray immoral characters involved in drugs, adultery, fornication, and other sinful acts. Constant exposure to such scenes can subtly affect one’s heart and weaken the simplicity and purity expected of a Christian life.
2 Corinthians 11:3 warns us that, just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, our minds can also be led astray from the simplicity that is in Christ. Watching corrupt content can be one of the ways our minds become influenced and gradually corrupted.
Furthermore, 1 John 2:15 instructs us not to love the world or the things in it. If a person becomes attached to worldly things, the love of the Father cannot be in them. One of the ways Christians may develop worldly affection is through excessive movie watching, which can draw the heart away from God.
In light of this, Bro. Eli advised that instead of spending long hours watching movies, Christians should invest that time in more edifying activities such as reading the Bible, watching Christian teachings, or viewing educational documentaries about science and innovation. These alternatives help build knowledge and strengthen one’s spiritual life rather than weaken it.
Thank reading.
