Does God Want All Things, Including Evil, To Happen?
There are many evils that occur around us every day. These evils do not come from God but from human actions. However, God allows them because He has given us the freedom to choose the free will to decide between life and death.
In Deuteronomy 30:19, the Bible says:
“I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live.”
This verse shows that God has given humanity the ability to make choices. Out of His love and concern for us, He encourages us to choose life to make the right decisions that lead to blessings rather than destruction.
According to Bro. Eli’s teachings, the story of creation also proves God’s goodness. Before creating man, God had already provided everything necessary for human life: food, clothing, soil, rain, and more. Everything was prepared ahead of time for our well-being, just like a train track is laid before the train begins its journey.
In Ephesians 2:10, it is written:
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
This means that God designed us for good works that He had already planned before our existence. We are meant to live according to His divine purpose.
When we reflect on these scriptures and the teachings of Bro. Eli, it becomes clear that God truly loves us. Granting us free will is an expression of that love He doesn’t force us to obey Him, but allows us to make our own choices. Sadly, humanity has often chosen the path of evil instead of the life God has recommended.
