Soon there will be a birthday at home, so I decided to make a piñata in the shape of a unicorn. To do this we need
- 2 cardboard boxes, one must be square.
- Colored tissue paper.
- Scissors
- Cold glue
- Hot glue and its gun or dispenser.
Pronto habrá un cumpleaños en casa, por eso decidí hacer una piñata con forma de unicornio. Para hacer esto necesitamos
- 2 cajas de cartón, una debe ser cuadrada.
- Papel seda de colores.
- Tijeras
- Pegante frío
- Silicona caliente con su pistola o dispensador.
Materiales / Materials
We take the box that is not square and cut the shape of the head, once we have it defined, we duplicate it, that is to say we need two sides of these and cut strips of approximately 5 cm.
Tomamos la caja que no es cuadrada y cortamos la forma de la cabeza, una vez la tenemos definida, la duplicamos, es decir necesitamos dos caras de estas y cortamos tiras de aproximadamente 5 cm.
With the hot silicone, we join the faces with the cardboard strips to give volume to the unicorn's face.
Con la silicona caliente, unimos las caras con las tiras de cartón para darle volumen a la cara del unicornio.
We adhere the ready-made head to the square cardboard box.
Adherimos la cabeza ya lista a la caja de cartón cuadrada.
It's time to start covering with tissue paper. We take the paper, cut strips 10 cm wide, fold this paper in half and from there make small perpendicular cuts. From these strips we need several, so you can take a little while in this process.
Es el momento de empezar a cubrir con el papel seda. Tomamos el papel, cortamos tiras de 10 cm de ancho, doblamos este papel por la mitad y de ahí hacemos cortes pequeños perpendiculares. De estas tiras necesitamos varias, así que puedes tardar un poco en este proceso.
Now we glue the paper strips on the cardboard.
Ahora vamos pegando las tiras de papel sobre el cartón.
This is done with normal glue, it can be done in a wraparound way or as you see fit.
Esto lo hacemos con pegamento normal, se puede hacer de manera envolvente o como mejor te vaya saliendo.
When we have everything covered, we make the hair of the unicorn, this is made with strips of colored paper.
Cuando tenemos todo cubierto, hacemos el cabello del unicornio, este se hace con tiras de papel de colores.
También ponemos los detalles como nariz, ojos, cuerno.
Finally, we make the legs, for that, we cut the shapes in cardboard and cover them with paper. In this case, the legs will not be thick and as the piñata is hanging, we don't need it to support any weight.
Por último, hacemos las patas, para eso, cortamos las formas en cartón y las cubrimos con papel. En este caso, las patas no serán gruesas y como la piñata va colgada no necesitamos que soporte ningún peso.
Glue the legs and the unicorn piñata is ready to be filled with toys and candies.
Pegamos las patas y tenemos terminada la piñata de unicornio lista para llenar de juguetes y dulces.
