Traje un alimento empacado
y lo dejé en la mesa reposando,
una abeja estaba observando
y se asomo al sentir el olor raro.
Cuando nadie la veía,
se acercó a la comida,
le quitó la cubierta que traía
y descubrió una rica comida.
I brought some packaged food
and left it on the table to rest;
a bee was watching
and came closer when it caught the strange smell.
When no one was looking,
it approached the food,
removed the wrapper,
and discovered a delicious meal.
La abeja la levantó
era una arepa de buen sabor,
mucho se alegró,
hasta que llegué yo.
Tomé mi arepa,
está es mi cena,
se la quite con fuerza
y llorando se quedó ella.
The bee picked it up,
it was a delicious arepa,
she was so happy,
until I came along.
I took my arepa,
this is my dinner,
I snatched it away from her
and she was left crying.
El animal se quedó sentando
no entendía que había pasado,
tenía un alimento preciado
que sin razón le arrebataron.
Entonces, sentí mucha pena,
por quitarle la comida de esa manera,
se la regresé con prudencia
y la abeja comió contenta.
The animal just sat there,
not understanding what had happened;
it had a precious morsel of food
that had been snatched away from it for no reason.
Then, I felt very sorry
for taking its food away like that,
so I carefully gave it back,
and the bee ate happily.
