@runicar made a fantastic post about SEO optimizing Hive posts and how to make the Hive front ends rank higher.

Below is a one of my comments to the post reposted. It's important enough to warrant making a post of it. It was made in response to a guy who said his YouTuber and whatnot friends weren't too excited about posting on blockchain quoting the low rewards for doing that.
I'm saying that on a payout per view basis nothing better has ever existed in the history of online publishing than Hive/Steem, particularly during the altcoin bull run in early 2018.
Here's my comment:
Really?
In my opinion, Hive must be the easiest way to earn online ever to have existed. Seriously.
They do not realize the power of this place.
@nonsowrites made a post with some Nigerian travel Youtuber's video. In the video, the travel video maker discussed the monetary value of a million views, which is a serious amount. His estimates varied between a little over $100 to a few thousand dollars depending on CPR, which is generally highest for investment advice content. Yes, there are other ways to make money like affiliate links, selling products of your own or contracts with businesses who want to you to plug their products.
Here's the video:
But on a payout per view basis Hive content generates ridiculously high rewards. Consider my post rewards, for example. They generally vary between $0.5 and $10 per post. I have about 1400 followers most of whom are bots or dead followers who haven't interacted with the chain for months or even years. How many views do I get? Based on the number of comments and organic votes I get, maybe between 50-200 in most cases. A very small group ever even opens my posts.
Of course, I made much less in the beginning. But doesn't anyone, on any platform?
Hive has about 30,000 monthly active users. Quora has 300,000,000 monthly active users. Quora pays the best earning partners about $3,000 a month. Back when
@themarkymark had his earning statistics up, the best earning content creators earned about $1,000 a month.
Hive pays three and a half orders of magnitude better than Quora.
I have spent ZERO hours trying to SEO my posts or my blog or even to market myself to other Hive users. I just create content and talk to people like I have done for the last 28 years on the internet. I don't market myself or my blog or engage in ANY brand building whatsoever.
It sounds like on mainstream platforms, the content creators have two jobs: the content creation itself and all the SEO optimization, marketing, brand building and all that shit.
If you are a successful YouTuber, there is ZERO rational reason not to create a Hive account and make a Hive post out of every YouTube video you make. It takes very little time to do that, maybe a minute or so.
The competition out there in the "real world" is CUTTHROAT.
In comparison, content creators on Hive are a coddled bunch. Why? Because like
@ontheway put it in a comment in response to post of mine today, Hive is basically not even content-centric platform but a distribution network. It's a blockchain that has token inflation going on with the tokens distributed based on Proof-of-Brain, which means stakeholders have complete freedom to determine how they're distributed. Earning here is like going out and holding an empty cup out when altcoin investors shower money at all the cups. There is so little competition over who has the nicest cup stakeholders (investors) want to shower money at the most that earning it here is ridiculously easy compared to the dog-eat-dog world of Youtube, Instagram or whatever.
Most people who make YT videos but scoff at the idea of making Hive posts out of their videos demonstrate shocking stupidity. Hive and even Steem are platforms where altcoin investors are clamoring to give value to HIVE and STEEM that the blockchains automatically distribute to the content creators every three seconds like clockwork.
I'm not surprised at all when some people suggest we should do away with the content reward people when some people refuse to make the obvious move and re-post what they post on YouTube to Hive. An even better idea would be to back up their videos on 3speak. It must be because they don't know the facts, they're or there's something else going on like people being scared shitless of cryptocurrency for some irrational reason.
