How many dreams do people have, right? At an age, it seems like the sky is the limit, everything can be grasped in one's grasp. That day, after finishing college, I stepped into university with thousands of colorful dreams. There was light in my eyes, courage in my mind, I would build a career, see the world, and create myself in my own way.
I started doing odd jobs, earned an income, and through that I started fulfilling my hobbies. Clothes for myself, my favorite book, a cup of tea at my favorite coffee shop, everything seemed to be a source of some kind of joy. But as the years passed, those hobbies somehow started to fade away. Responsibilities took their place.
Now, whenever I have money, I don't think about clothes anymore. Instead of going to fancy restaurants all the time, I think, "Don't my parents need something?" If I save, maybe it will come in handy later. The priorities have changed, and reality has taken over the place of hobbies.
Well, once upon a time, I dreamed of doing a PhD and being immersed in research. Today, I see that dream slowly disappearing. Now, I don't even have the desire to do an MBA. The only thing that keeps running through my mind is that I need a full-time job.Because the responsibility is no longer limited to oneself, family, future, security.....everything seems to be slowly falling on my shoulders.
I don't know if it's just my age, or if I'm thinking too much. But at this age, every night of life feels a little heavier. Even scrolling through the phone screen now makes me tired. As the night progresses, the thoughts of career take over my mind.
Still, I feel the need to say these words, because I know that many people feel this way. Some may express it, some may swallow it quietly.
Dreams are not lost, they may stop for a while. Sometimes due to the rush of responsibilities, sometimes due to the pressure of reality. But one day, exactly one day, we will find those dreams again. Maybe in a new form, with a new interpretation. But they will not be lost, that is the belief.
