This time I want to share with you all a new Fan-Art, this time it's Water Whale a cool and adorable whale from @holozing which made my day a little more fun today. Soon I will show you the process I followed to make this illustration, I hope you like my version and thanks for stopping by!

Sean todos bienvenidos a una nueva publicación de mi parte en esta increíble comunidad. En esta ocasión quiero compartir con todos ustedes un nuevo Fan-Art, esta vez se trata de Water Whale una genial y adorable ballena de @holozing la cual hizo que mi día de hoy fuera un poco mas alegre. En breve les mostrare el proceso que seguí para elaborar esta ilustración. ¡Espero les guste mi versión y gracias por pasar por aquí!

For this peculiar character I took some references from airplanes, this helped me to draw several guide lines that helped me to develop the initial pose of the character in the sketch. Then I gave him the shape, adding all his elements. To make my character look a little different I chose to make his mouth open and added some very small teeth, finally when I finished the sketch I made the lineart with a thin line with pressure.

Para este peculiar personaje tome algunas referencias de aviones, esto me ayudo a trazar varias líneas guía que me sirvieron para desarrollar la pose inicial del personaje en el boceto. Luego fui dándole la forma, agregando todos sus elementos. Para que mi personaje se viera algo diferente opte por realizar su boca abierta y añadí algunos dientes muy pequeños, finalmente al terminar el boceto pase a realizar el lineart con una línea delgada con presión.

Again the lineart made me take a little longer than expected but I liked the result achieved with the line. After finishing this step I placed the base colors, using a little more desaturated colors.

Nuevamente el lineart hizo que me demorara algo mas del tiempo previsto, pero me gusto el resultado logrado con la línea. Después de terminar este paso pase a colocar los colores base, utilizando colores un poco mas desaturados.

Once the colors were applied I started to work on the shadows of the character, at this point I used a hard tip brush and with a light violet color I made the first layer of general shadows for this character. Then I applied a very light light and worked a little more on the shadows.

Aplicados los colores comencé a trabajar en las sombras del personaje, en este punto utilice un pincel de punta dura y con un color violeta claro fui realizando la primera capa de sombras generales para este personaje. Después aplique una luces muy leves y trabaje un poco mas en las sombras.

With the character ready I started to work on an aquatic background, first I made a not very detailed sketch of a seabed, I also made some bubbles and then in several layers I worked in grayscale the elements and shapes of this background.

Con el personaje listo comencé a trabajar en un fondo acuático, primero hice un boceto nada detallado de un fondo marino, hice también algunas burbujas y luego en varias capas fui trabajando en escala de grises los elementos y formas de este fondo.

Finally I added gradients of blue tones on top of my grayscale background. This allowed me to give various effects and color intensities for the background. Finally I added a flash of light and applied a white color to my bubbles to give the water effect I was looking for in this background.

Para finalizar fui agregando degradados de tonos azules por encima de mi fondo en escala de grises. Esto me permitió ir dando varios efectos e intensidades de color para el fondo. Por último agregue un destello de luz y aplique un color blanco a mis burbujas para dar el efecto de agua que buscaba en este fondo.
