I started by making a small sketch of the character, at first it was a little difficult because the design looked like anything but a wolf so first I worked on the main pose that my composition would have and then I worked on the resemblance to the reference character. Little by little I was shaping my sketch and through layers I was detailing the elements separately. Finally I opted to clean up my sketch without making a lineart itself to give that aspect a little more traditional work.
Comenc茅 realizando un peque帽o boceto del personaje, al principio fue algo dif铆cil porque el dise帽o parec铆a de todo menos un lobo por lo que primero trabaje en la pose principal que tendr铆a mi composici贸n y luego fui trabajando en el parecido con el personaje de referencia. Poco a poco fui d谩ndole forma a mi boceto y por medio de capas fui detallando los elementos por separado. Por 煤ltimo opte por limpiar mi boceto sin hacer un lineart en si para dar ese aspecto un poco mas de trabajo tradicional.
After finishing with the line work I started working on the colors, for this I applied a layer of gray color and on top I began to apply the tones that the character would have, using a range of color similar to those of the reference.
Despu茅s de terminar con el trabajo de l铆nea pase a trabajar en los colores, para ello aplique una capa de color gris y por encima comenc茅 a aplicar los tonos que tendr铆a el personaje, utilizando una gama de color similar a los de la referencia.
Then I started to work on the shadows, for this I used the technique of flat colors and made the general shadows on the character, then with a soft tip brush I applied some lights and to work on the fire I wanted to use a paint brush to give a different effect on it.
Despu茅s comenc茅 a trabajar en las sombras, para ello utilice la t茅cnica de colores planos y realice las sombras generales en el personaje, luego con un pincel de punta suave aplique algunas luces y para trabajar en el fuego quise utilizar un pincel de tipo pintura para dar un efecto diferente en este.
At this point I went on to work and give more detail in the illuminations of the whole character and its elements. Giving more priority to the fire effect which I wanted to highlight a little more. Finally I worked a little more on the eyes of the character and made a parallel shadow under this wolf to make a background later.
En este punto pase a trabajar y dar mas detalle en las iluminaciones de todo el personaje y sus elementos. Dando mayor prioridad al efecto del fuego el cual quer铆a q destacara un poco mas. Por ultimo trabaje un poco mas en los ojos del personaje y realice una sombra paralela debajo de este lobo para realizar un fondo posteriormente.
To finish the illustration I made a background based on a kind of night forest and finally I worked even more on the illuminations of the fire to give a more realistic effect of it and also some additional details in the background.
