¡Hola, chicos! ¿Qué tal? Luego de un tiempo, volví a plancharme el cabello. Debido a tantos procesos respiratorios, no era la mejor opción usar la plancha (ni para otros, ni para mí), pero ahora que ya me siento un poco mejor, fue una gran decisión. Puedo decirles que esto es una de las cosas que más me hacía falta.

Hey, guys! How's it going? After a while, I straightened my hair again. With all the respiratory issues I've been having, using a flat iron wasn't the best idea (neither for others nor for me), but now that I'm feeling a little better, it was a great decision. I can tell you that this is one of the things I needed most.

En este momento, mi cabello es mitad rizado y mitad liso. Por lo general, suelo hacerme un tratamiento llamado "cirugía capilar"; no se trata de falta de aceptación de mis rizos, sino de pura practicidad. A veces el factor tiempo no está de mi lado y mantener el cabello rizado toma mucho tiempo, productos y técnica, algo de lo que carezco actualmente. Por eso, me resulta más sencillo realizarme este tratamiento cada cierto tiempo y mantenerlo. Debido a mi proceso de salud, no podía usar la plancha y mucho menos aplicarme químicos, pero ayer finalmente pude hacerlo. Me sentí súper bien, segura y bonita de nuevo; ya tenía como dos meses usando solo una cola de caballo. Al soltármelo, me di cuenta de lo mucho que ha crecido y, sobre todo, de la cantidad de canas que tengo.

Right now, my hair is half curly and half straight. I usually get a treatment called "hair surgery"; it’s not that I don’t accept my curls, but rather a matter of pure practicality. Sometimes time isn’t on my side, and maintaining curly hair takes a lot of time, products, and technique—things I’m currently lacking. That’s why I find it easier to get this treatment every so often and maintain it. Because of my health journey, I couldn’t use a flat iron, let alone apply chemicals, but yesterday I was finally able to do it. I felt amazing, confident, and beautiful again; I’d been wearing just a ponytail for about two months. When I let it down, I realized how much it had grown and, above all, how many gray hairs I have.

Les juro que pensaba que tenía unas cinco canas, ¡pero son como cinco en cada espacio! Justo ahora que he decidido dejar de pintarme el cabello, me toca aceptarlas y aprender a lidiar con ellas. Además, cuando me lo plancho, ellas son las primeras en saltar; no se quedan quietas.

I swear, I thought I had about five gray hairs, but there are like five in every section! Just when I’ve decided to stop dyeing my hair, I have to accept them and learn to deal with them. Plus, when I straighten my hair, they’re the first ones to pop up; they just won’t stay put.

Lo cierto de todo es que logré plancharme el cabello y me gustó muchísimo el resultado. Aún no tengo un estimado de cuándo pueda hacerme el tratamiento —que, de hecho, ya es bastante urgente porque el uso constante de la liga lo quiebra—, pero ya les contaré cuando lo haga. El antes y el después va a ser bastante sorpresivo, tanto para mí como para cualquiera que lo vea. ¡Les dejo un abrazo fuerte!

The truth is, I managed to straighten my hair, and I absolutely loved the results. I still don’t know when I’ll be able to get the treatment—which, actually, is pretty urgent because constantly wearing the hair tie is breaking my hair—but I’ll let you know when I do.
