Could you remember days of long ago especially when you were small, about those things that you were trained to do from infancy? Do you think it would be wise to abandon them just like that even when there is real need to make use of them?
While waiting for your genuine response, let me show you one that my parents taught me during tender age and how I practiced it again today.
I could remember vividly during my childhood days when my parents were struggling to make ends meet. We were very poor then, yet, Mom and Dad were always there for us irrespective of the hardship then.
Then, we do cook with firewood. So Mom taught each of us how to prepare delicious 😋 meals. Therefore, although we were using firewood to cook them, yet, each of us (both boys and girls) in the family learnt how to arrange and make fire with firewood without hurting or burning our skin.
One sweet thing about this method is that people do consider food made with firewood more thirsty.
So today, while preparing rice and beans, our gas finished. As today is Sunday, there was no time to run up and down in hunt of a gas station. Therefore, I remembered the days of little beginnings. Yea, I switched over to firewood cooking method.
I prepared both rice and beans with mere fire from firewood. The cooking method was just easy and fast. Imagine what I would have done in situation like this without learning this skill from my Mom.
The only disadvantage of this method is smoke. If you're not careful, you will keep on inhaling smoke which could result to health challenges tomorrow.
After preparing the meal, see how appetizing it became.
The main lessons are:
Even if you're living large and ornate, never you forget days of little beginnings because situation may call for it tomorrow.
No skill is a waste. Learn whatever you're opportune to learn now when you can because it may turn out to be your savior tomorrow
Humility is the key
Thanks for reading. I appreciate. See you again tomorrow.
